HANSON—Mr. Ned Levoy Hanson, age 94 of Fleming Island, FL passed away April 30, 2018. Ned was bor August 17, 1923 in Taylorville, IL, the son of John W. Hanson and Hattie Davis Hanson. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps following 30 years of distinguished service.

Upon his retirement from the USMC, Ned worked towards and received his Master’s Degree from Florida State University. He later retired from the Clay County School Board where he served as Asst. Principal at Orange Park High School.

Ned is remembered as a great story teller, wood worker, water skiing and vocational instructor. He loved the outdoors and hiking the Appalachian Trail. He is best remembered for his care of others, his service to students and his community through Orange Park Lodge #267, F. & A.M., the Shriners, and his membership at First Baptist Church of Orange Park.

Ned was predeceased by his wife Juanita Hanson and his brother Wesley Hanson. He is survived by his loving wife Christina Hanson; his step daughter Tracey McEntire; grandchildren Lacey and Riley; also many other loving family members, friends, associates, and students. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 5, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, 1140 Kingsley Ave.

, Orange Park, FL 32073. Family members and friends will gather from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the church. Family request donations in his memory be made to either the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children or to the Firsat Baptist Church Seniors Dept.
