Jane Ann Mershon, 79, of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly, with her family by her side, May 5, 2018 at Union Hospital. She was born May 28, 1938, in Clay County, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Violet (Herron) Scharf. She graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1956.

Following high school she married Hubbard Mershon on February 16, 1957. Jane will be remembered as a devout Christian, the epitome of unconditional love. She loved spending time at Grace Chapel… Read More » Church and spending time with her family and her dog Boomer.

She also enjoyed, working puzzles, watching sports, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play baseball, volleyball, winter guard and basketball. She also was an avid Pacers fan. She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Violet Scharf and her husband Hubbard Mershon.

Jane is survived by her son Mike Mershon and wife Mary, Cindy Parr and husband Mark, Tony Mershon and wife Chris, and Stephen Mershon and wife Shawnia; grandchildren: Christopher Parr (Melissa), Matt Mershon (Lindsey), Mitch Mershon (Eskeila), Hillary Pruett (Dustin), Chelsea Shoemaker (Brady), Caleb Mershon, Blake Mershon, Maggie Mershon, Brent Biddle, and Cassie Biddle; and 9 great grandchildren (and one on the way); siblings: Gayle Scharf (Jeanne), Bill Scharf (Betty), and Nancy Decker (Jim), sister-in-law Susie Vanzo, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4-8pm.

Services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00am with Pastor Tim Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Clay County Humane Society 8280 N County Rd 125 W, Brazil, IN 47834.
