Jane’s Obituary Kittery-Jane Marie Lovejoy, 87, of Kittery, passed away peacefully at York Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, January 27, 2019, following a courageous fight with an unexpected illness. She was born to parents Joseph and Jane (Kwapich) Kashmer in Toledo, Ohio on February 23, 1931. She was a bookkeeper until she married the love of her life, the late Everett F. Lovejoy on September 12, 1953, and then became a homemaker for her five children.

She kept the family together, traveling across the country and overseas with her husband, who was a career military service member. The family eventually settled in Walla Walla, Wash on a small farm. In addition to farming, canning and gardening, Jane loved fishing and camping with the family.

During the summer of 1974, the family moved back to the family home in Kittery, Maine, where she enjoyed fishing and lobstering on their boat. During quiet time, she was an avid reader and studious record keeper. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by daughter, Nancy LeClair of Berwick, sons John Lovejoy of Vancouver, Wash and Thomas Lovejoy of Cape Neddick, daughters Linda and her husband Brian Baker of Kittery Point and Karen and her husband Wade Drysdale of Eliot, and sister, Janice Iott, of Petersburg, MI. In addition to her five children, she is survived by grandchildren, Larry and wife Katelyn Dennis, Travis and wife Suzie Dennis, Louis and Heidi Baker, Melissa Drysdale, Dave LeClair, Leah and husband Shane Szilagyi, and Lynn LeClair, sisters-in-law Lois Kashmer and Helen Kashmer, brother-in-law Richard Korte, sixteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Everett Lovejoy in October, 2006, granddaughter, April Drysdale, in September, 2004 (meningitis), and son-in-law, Edwin LeClair in August, 2018.

She was also predeceased by four of her siblings, bothers James, John, and Joseph Kashmer, and sister Jackie Korte. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at St. Raphael’s Church, 6 Whipple Rd, Kittery, ME at 11:00am on Friday, February 1st, 2019, with reception immediately following.
