Violet’s Obituary Kittery, ME – Violet M. Cormier, 101, of Kittery died Friday, January 18, 2019, at Durgin Pines in Kittery after a brief illness. Born in Eliot, ME on July 18, 1917, she was the daughter of Clinton Manson and Mertie (McKenney) Manson. She graduated as valedictorian from Eliot High School.

She worked at McCallen’s in Newmarket, NH, Sherbuck’s Bakery, and Star Market in Kittery. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling with her husband of 67 years, Joseph W. Cormier. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph W Cormier, son Robert Cormier, two sisters, Sadie White and Ina Winslow, and a brother William Manson.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith French and husband Leon French of Eliot; son Thomas Cormier of Eliot; son Richard Cormier and wife Peggy Cormier of Springvale; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Services – A wake will be held on Wednesday evening of January 23rd, 2019, from 5pm – 7pm at the J S Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Rd, Kittery, ME, 03904. A funeral service will be held at J S Pelkey Funeral Home the following day, Thursday the 24th, at 2pm.
