Janet’s Obituary Hampstead, NH: Janet A. (Lafontaine) Lavoie, 75, a resident of Hampstead for the past three years, and formerly of Deerfield and Kingston, NH, died January 24, 2019 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. Born and raised in Pelham, daughter of the late Julian and Rita (Gagne) Lafontaine, she graduated from Woodbury High School, Salem, with the Class of 1961. She was first employed at Sylvania and later was a co-owner and operator of the former Star Ceramics of Haverhill and Kingston.

She worked for as few years at Union Mission Nursing Home in Haverhill, MA, and at the time of her retirement, she had been employed for twenty-seven years as the Laundry Supervisor at Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. A former resident of Deerfield, NH for twenty-four years and Kingston, NH for twenty-five years, Mrs. Lavoie was a member of Saint Anne’s Parish of Hampstead and served as Secretary of the Emerson Mobile Home Park tenants association and also as Secretary of the local chapter of the National Executive Housekeepers Association. Mrs. Lavoie enjoyed bowling as a member of several local leagues, trips to Foxwoods, Bingo and traveling.

The wife of the late Norman R. Lavoie, who died in 2004, and mother of the late Joseph W. Lavoie, who died in 2017, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell N. and Angie Lavoie of Locust, NC, daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Michael Otero of Fremont, NH, and Ellen Lavoie and William Paige of Shoreline, WA, a daughter-in-law Linda (Durgin) Lavoie of Epping, a brother Robert Lafontaine of Kingston, five sisters, Sylvia Lanouette of Salem, NH, Dorothy Zazopoulos of Methuen, Loretta Curtis of Methuen, Claire Carrasco of Silver City, NM, and Denise Michaud of Salem, NH, five grandchildren, Christopher Emery, Samantha (Lavoie) Gombar, Matthew Lavoie, Eric Emery, and Catherine Lavoie, three great-grandchildren Brayden, Jacob and Maddie Gombar, and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a sister Carol Stowers. Relatives and friends are invited to Mrs. Lavoie’s Life Celebration and calling hours to be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
