Obituary of Janet Sullivan Janet A. Sullivan, 81, from Marion, passed away in her home at 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019. A lifelong resident of Marion, Janet was born on April 14, 1937, to the late George A. and Ruby M. (Smith) Dakin. Janet was a graduate of Marion High School and worked in the office at Foster-Forbes from 1969-1985.

On April 20, 1985, she married her husband, Vern L. Sullivan. They shared nearly 30 years together before he preceded her in death on October 8, 2014. Janet was a member of American Legion Post 368, Hostess House, and Marion Art Association.

She enjoyed painting, sewing, reading, woodworking, and crafts. More than anything else, though, she loved the time that she could spend with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by her daughter, Latricia “Trish” Clymer, Marion; step-sons, William “Bill” Sullivan, Marion, and Thomas “Tom” M. Sullivan, Marion; granddaughter, Clarissa Herrberg; step-grandchildren, Scott, Tanner, Crystal, and Heather Sullivan; great-grandsons, Tyler and Mason Herrberg; and several step-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, A. Richard Dakin, Donna J. Sullivan, Michael D. Dakin, Patty L. Linton, and Andy G. Dakin. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN.

Janet’s funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019, at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
