Obituary of Linda Martin Linda Carol Martin January 4, 1953 ~ January 3, 2019 Linda Carol Martin, Swayzee, died 10:35 a.m. on January 3, 2019, at the age of 65. She was born in Marion on January 4, 1953, to the late Aubrey James and Harriett Jeanine (Singer) Estes. She married Noel Martin in 1978.

Linda graduated from Oak Hill High School obtained her Associates Degree from Ivy Tech. She retired in 2010 from Marion General Hospital as a Credentialing Specialist after 40 years. She attended Howard Chapel and St. Paul Catholic Church.

Linda enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota with her father in her younger years and casino trips to Las Vegas with her work friends. A particularly fun trip was the white water rafting in Tennessee. She was on a bowling league at Crest Lanes, enjoyed planting flower beds and yard work, boating, watching her grandson, and riding motor cycles.

She was the most considerate, selfless, loving and caring person and was always willing to put others before herself. Linda is survived by her husband Noel; sons Ryan (Alexandra) Martin, Pendleton and Shawn Martin, Swayzee; grandson, Holden James Martin; step brothers Scott Macke and David Macke; and step-mom Terry Estes. She is preceded in death by her brother, Gene Estes; step-father, James “Jim” Black; Father-in-law, Joel James Martin, Jr., and mother-in-law, Olympia A. Martin.

A visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN. Linda’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019.

Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cancer Services of Grant County, 305 S. Norton Ave. , Marion, IN 46952.
