Obituary of Fred Ritter Fred Lee Ritter November 14, 1950 ~ February 19, 2019 Fred L. Ritter, 68, Van Buren, died on February 19, 2019 at University Nursing Center. He was born on November 14, 1950, to the late Henry Ritter and Mariem (Robert) Mills-Benbow. He married Debra (Wheadon) Ritter on August 27, 1983.

Fred worked as a truck driver and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, mowing and lawn care. He liked bowling, playing pool and the guitar. He was a people person and loved his family.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Frances (Gary) Wheadon, Marion; Missy Miller, Van Buren; Mark (Chassidy) Barnett, Van Buren; Sunshine Lewis, Muncie; Vicki Van Ness, Ft. Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Grace) Ritter, Upland; brother, Elvin (Deborah) Ritter, Marion; and father-in-law, Preston Wheadon. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Lena Salazar; brother, Henry Ritter; and sister, Willnetta Gerstorff.

The family will receive visitors from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN 46933. There will be a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the funeral home with a burial at Riverside Cemetery to follow. Online condolences may be made at www.
