Obituary of James Luckey, Sr. James E. Luckey, Sr., 76, Marion, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Aperion Healthcare in Marion. He was born in Marion on September 2, 1942, and was the son of George and Florence (Jenkins) Luckey. James was a graduate of Marion High School.

He married his loving wife, Marilyn Hall, on June 23, 1967, and they had two sons, Robert and James, Jr.. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam. Following his military service, he worked in production at the GM Stamping Plant in Marion.

James was a loving husband and father for 52 years, a hard worker, a great role model, and one who had a good sense of humor. He was always very active and especially loved to spoil his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching Army and Western movies, playing Yahtzee, going on walks, needle working, and listening to Christian music.

He also collected novelty items. James was once an ordained minister, and he loved to read. He is survived by his loving bride, Marilyn; son, Robert (significant other, Kelcie Collins) Luckey; grandchildren: Brian, Jessica, Kimberly, James Robert, Jimmy Lee, and James Steele Luckey; Stacia Dominique Stepler; Michael Patrick Luckey; and Keegan Milo Luckey; great-grandchildren: Braydon Edward Luckey and Marlie Hicks; and Uncle Bob and Aunt Mae.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, James Luckey, Jr.; and granddaughter, Rayna Abigail Luckey. The family will have a private graveside service for James. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
