Janis Moore Brown Janis Moore Brown, 84, widow of Montague Laurie Brown, Jr., died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Medical University of SC in Charleston. Born August 8, 1933, in Olanta, she was a daughter of the late Robert Coke Moore and the late Clara Elizabeth Lewis Moore. Mrs. Brown was a member of Sumter First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Hope and Friendship Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two children, Beth B. Cuttino and Laurie C. Brown and his wife, Carol all of Sumter; three grandchildren, Tillman E. Cuttino, III and his wife, Melanie, Elizabeth L. Cuttino; and Mary Ann Brown; three great grandchildren, Caleb Cuttino, Gabriel Cuttino, and Luke Friend; three sisters, Louise M. Kennedy and Kay M. Hicks both of Turbeville, and Gloria M. Frenz (Ed) of Sumter; two brothers, Paul L. Moore (Shirley) and Lance C. Moore (Jaye) both of Sumter; a sister-in-law, Eleanor G. Moore of Olanta; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leland M. Moore and Robert L. Moore. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev.

Dr. Bob Calvert officiating. Burial will be private. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church and other times at the home of her daughter. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 107 E. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
