Jean Claire Neiss Tierney, 91, of Mount Joy, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Paramount Senior Living at Lancaster County. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Park R. and Florence (Barto) Neiss. Jean was the wife of the late James A. Tierney who passed away on March 27, 2013.

Jean graduated from Mount Joy High School, class of 1945. She was a member of Mary Mother of the Church Parish in Mount Joy and the Mount Joy VFW Post 5752 Auxiliary. She was an avid Yankees fan and will be missed by her two dogs, Cookie and Minnie.

Jean is survived by her son James S. Tierney of Mount Joy; four grandchildren, James, Matthew, Peter and Haylie; and three great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary Mother of the Church 625 Union School Road, Mount Joy 17552 on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 10 A.M. with Rev. Pang S. Tcheou as Celebrant.

Family and friends will be received following the Mass at the Church. Final Farewell and Commendation will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
