John T. Vuxta, 48, of Elizabethtown, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2018 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Born in Camp Hill, he was the son of Andrea (Schaeffer) Schweigler of Bainbridge and the late James Vuxta. John was the husband of Stacey L. (Reider) Vuxta with whom he celebrated 19 years of marriage this past September.

John was employed by Charles E. Groff and Sons Inc. for the past 18 years, traveling the states. He was an avid hunter who loved restoring old farm tractors. Surviving in addition to his wife, Stacey and mother, Andrea, are three daughters, Jenna Vuxta of Elizabethtown, Amber Vuxta fiancé of Justin Hoover of Mount Joy and Emily Vuxta of Elizabethtown; three beautiful grandchildren, Leaira and Layla Rooker and Logan Vuxta; two brothers; James Vuxta Jr., husband of Rosemary of Bainbridge and Thomas Vuxta of Harrisburg; two sisters, Jacqueline McNinney of Bainbridge and Susan Joyce of Australia; his in laws, Earl and Judy Ziegler of Elizabethtown; a brother in law, Steve Reider of Elizabethtown; seven nieces; three nephews; and one grandniece.

He was preceded in death by his son in law, Saxon Ansell. A funeral service honoring John’s life will be held at Word of Life Chapel, 139 Wickersham Road, Bainbridge on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc. 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy from 6 PM to 8 PM and again on Saturday at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM.

Interment will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
