Jean R. Dutremble, Sr., 96, of Woonsocket, passed away May 22, 2018 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Madeleine (Robidoux) Dutremble, whom he married May 2, 1942. Born in Sainte Victoire de Sorel, Canada, he was the son of the late Edouard and Aurore (Lamothe) Dutremble.

He worked as a laborer for Shuman Construction for many years, worked in various mills, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. Jean was a communicant of All Saints Church, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph Senior Citizens Club. He is survived by his four children, Jean R. Dutremble, Jr. and his wife Lorie of Woonsocket, Suzanne Grenier and her husband Leo of Woonsocket, Paul Dutremble and his wife Dina of North Smithfield, and Robert Dutremble and his wife Audrey of Worcester, MA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; as well as three sisters, Doris Callegaro, Cecile Remillard, and Gabrielle Levesque.

He was the brother of the late Jeanne Lynch. His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Community Church, 323 Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 – 7 PM in the funeral home.
