Obituary for Jennifer Austin (Muzio) MECHANICVILLE, NY – Jennifer J. Muzio Austin, 42, of Del Mar, California, formerly of Mechanicville, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital, after a very courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Niskayuna, NY, on December 4, 1975, daughter of Leonard and Jacqueline (Dominiak) Muzio of Mechanicville. She graduated from Mechanicville HS in 1994 and earned a degree in psychology from Siena College in 1998.

Jenn began studies to become an Interior Designer and pursue her creative talents. She was always lending decorating ideas and expressing her creative side to all she loved. Jenn was unfailingly dedicated to her family, especially her two children, Sidney and Sam.

She loved planning their activities and supporting them both in and outside of school. Despite her fight with cancer, she was caring for and planning their lives for them. Jennifer saw the good in people, and was always willing to help others.

Communications and marketing were areas that Jenn worked hard at and enjoyed. She worked as Managing Editor for the Del Mar & La Jolla Lifestyle magazines. Previously, she held positions in Community Programs at Syracuse University, Marketing Director for the Wilton and Rotterdam Malls, and the Glens Falls Post Star.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Sidney and Samuel Austin of San Diego, California, her husband, Daniel Austin of San Diego, California, her parents, Len and Jacquie Muzio of Mechanicville, brother, Jonathan Muzio and sister-in-law, Christine (Reinhard) Muzio of Denver, CO; her nieces and nephews, Amy Austin, Kaitlin Aiello, Kelsey Austin, Austin Aiello, Jonathan Aiello, all of Liverpool, NY, Esme Muzio and Sebastian Muzio of Denver, CO; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends. Jenn’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephen Sgambati, Jr and Dr. Ed Liebers and the staff of Saratoga Hospital’s C-3 ward, for their care and compassion. Private services will be held at the convenience of family.

In lieu of flowers, a trust has been established for the benefit of Sidney and Samuel Austin. For information regarding donations, please contact Jenn’s family.
