Obituary for Jennifer “Jenny” Lee Yager 48, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 with her family by her side. She fought a valiant and inspiring battle against glioblastoma (brain cancer). Throughout her fight, she retained her positive outlook and continued to put the welfare of others ahead of her own.

She was a bright light to all who knew her; a spontaneous of energy and enthusiasm; passionate about life and family. She was a dedicated and loving mother/wife/daughter/aunt/niece and friend. She will be missed terribly.

Her absence will leave a void in our lives that cannot be filled, but we take comfort in the memories we have of her, the love she shared, and the way she embraced every day. Jenny is survived by her husband Bill, sons Owen and Charlie, her parents Jim and Sandy Geer, her three brothers and their wives Jason Geer (Susanne), Josh Geer (Wendy), and John Samples (Ghada Salama). She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Patricia Yager, and sisters-in-law Sarah Yager (Steven Lasak) and Sue Hogan (Bob).

She is beloved by her nieces and nephews – Alex, Emily, Hayley, Sam, Jackson, and Cassie Geer, Jebreel Samples, Kyle and Matthew Hogan, and Jane and Charlotte Lasak, as well as the extensive Geer-LeBeau clan. Born and raised in Oldham County, Jenny graduated from OCHS in 1988. She studied Photography at the University of Louisville, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1994.

Professionally, she went on to work at JEB Advertising alongside her father and brothers Jason and Josh. In her personal life, Jenny was lively, spirited, and generous. She brought joy to those she knew through her passion and enthusiasm.

Deeply committed to her friends, family, and community, she served as soccer coach, PTA president, and volunteer to many causes, but mostly as an incredible mother to her two boys (and any of their friends who happened to be around at the time). We’ll remember her for her passion for travel, her spontaneity, her love of bargains, and the joy she brought to everything she did. A gathering of family and friends will be from 12-8 pm.
