Obituary for Jerl Keith Miller Mr. Jerl Keith Miller, age 62, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (February 10, 2019) at his home. Born October 9, 1956 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Rev. Jessie and Mildred Honaker Miller.
A lifelong resident of southwest Virginia area, he had made his home with his sister Pamela for the past 13 ½ years. A disabled coal miner and member of the UMWA, he had formerly been employed by Island Creek Coal at VP#1 and for Consol Energy. He had a strong work ethic and enjoyed farming, tending to his horses, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sandy Whitt. Survivors include one son, Brandon Miller of Bristol; one grandson, Wyatt Miller; two sisters, Pamela Stinson of the home and Diane Munsey and husband, Tim of Cedar Bluff; one brother, Barry Miller of Honaker; seven nephews, Tony Honaker (who was like a son) and wife, Stephanie (whom he adored), Adam Whitt and wife, Jessica, Jordan Whitt, Joshua Miller, Andrew Miller, Jody Munsey and wife, Lee Ann, and Todd Munsey and wife Susan; one niece, Lindsey Miller (who was like a daughter); special friends, Howard Cook (who was like a brother), and Lee Charlton; special great-aunt, Edna Hughes; a host of many friends whom he loved very much. The family would like to extend a special thank you to MSA Hospice, his nurse, Paula Slate, and Tiger X Pharmacy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Steve Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Miller, Andrew Miller, Adam Whitt, Jordan Whitt, Todd Munsey, Jody Munsey, Chandler Honaker, Tony Honaker, and Adam Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Cook, Kevin Cook, Buck Hart, Larry “Zeke” Goodman, Jerry Clark, Kenny Hagerman, Barry Mullins, Doug Whitt, Joe Huff, Zack Slone, Chris Marshall, Ron Hart, Brian Stevens, Gary Dye, Chuck Price, and Ben Price. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday.
