Jerrald Durantt “Jerry” Stone, 84, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018. He was born February 25, 1934, in Gaston County to the late Bartley and Thelma Black Stone. Mr. Stone was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1951-1955.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked in the General Mail Facility in Charlotte. A member of Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, he was also a member of Faith American Legion Post 327 and Spencer Moose Lodge. Mr. Stone enjoyed being outdoors and at home with his family, especially his beautiful wife.

He also enjoyed fishing, his dogs, playing the guitar and music, watching westerns and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerrald Durantt Stone, Jr Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Blenda Maybelle McCombs Stone, whom he married February 28, 1960, at Shiloh Reformed Church; children, Jill Stone Bell of Salisbury, Kelly G. Stone (Cheryl Sigmon) of Salisbury, Ricky Allen Stone of Chicago, and Brian Keith Stone of Myrtle Beach; three brothers, two sisters; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019, 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Richard Myers.
