Obituary for Jerry Fermin Nikhil It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Jerry Nikhil, beloved husband, son, father, brother, and friend passed away at the young age of 39 on June 16, 2018. Jerry’s life and love enriched all who knew him. After a 12 year career with Delta Airlines, Jerry was blessed with the miracle of his true vocation—fatherhood.

His love lives on in his precious son and in each of our hearts. Jerry is survived by his wife Sheela, son Jordan, mom Mercy, brother Jim, sister-in-law Christina, nephew Jake and a community of friends who will miss him deeply. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 18 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel, 3940 Macland Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127 and from 10 am until 11:45 am on Tuesday, June 19 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4300 King Springs Road SE, Smyrna, GA 30082.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday at the church with Father Brian Sheridan officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park, Marietta. “Even after being told he was dying, Jerry continued to set goals and never gave up hope.

He was a warrior until the very end. And it’s this optimistic mindset that allowed him to keep going, and “never die easy,” despite the odds stacked against him. That’s why I believe cancer never really won, even though it took his life in the end”.
