Jerry Lamar Smith, 69, of 104 S. Maple Street, Walhalla, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Walhalla, SC, Mr. Smith was the son of the late James Marion and Lucille Rutledge Smith. He retired from Schlumberger after 25 years of service and later worked at Itron for 14 years.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #92 and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Smith is survived by his daughters: Jerri-Anne Smith and Gwen Tucker; brothers: Steve Smith (Helen) of Westminster, SC and Warren Smith (Lynnette) of Walhalla, SC; and grandchildren: Hannah Smith and Savannah Bright. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brothers: Wayne and Johnny Smith; and sister: Delorse “Lori” Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 25, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow at Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM, Monday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, GHS Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672.
