Obituary for Jewell Howard Greenwood GREENWOOD, Jewell Howard, 95, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018. He retired after 46 years with the Courier Journal. Jewell finished his career as the Director of Research and Analysis.

He was a life-long member of Epiphany United Methodist Church and Jones Memorial United Methodist Church where he dedicated a combined 42 years of service to these congregations as the choir director. He was also a WWII Air Force veteran. Jewell was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jane Gregory Greenwood.

He is survived by his children, Sarah G. Anderson (Steve), of Centerville, OH and Gregory H. Greenwood (Kim); four grandchildren, Emma Anderson, Erin Greenwood, Elizabeth Anderson and Bryan Greenwood; brother, Joe Greenwood (Francena); several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Cleo. His celebration of life funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5th at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr. with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 1 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 4th at Ratterman’s.
