Obituary for Jimmie A. Hall Big Stone Gap, Virginia Jimmie A. Hall, 82, passed away on Friday , June 1, 2018 at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He was a retired M/Sgt. in the U. S. Air Force with over 20 years of service.
Jimmie also worked for Norfolk-Southern Railroad as a communications engineer. He attended Cedar Ridge Freewill Baptist Church in the Crackers Neck Community. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Hall; a granddaughter, Tonia Begley; father, Ewell Hall; mother, Ida (Woods) Hall; four brothers, Junior Hall, Elmer Hall, Kermit Hall and Sam Hall; and three sisters, Virginia Chandler, Frances Wells and Betty Kilgore.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Eula Hall; daughters, Sandy Hollyfield of Morristown, TN; Sharon Ricker (Dan) of Rogersville, TN, and Vicki Hicks of Kingsport, TN; son, Richard Walters (Joan) of Antioch, TN; sister, Helen Morino of Big Stone Gap; daughter-in-law, Vickie Hall of Wise, VA; grandsons, James Hall, Justin Ricker, Nathaniel Phillips, Jordan Hollyfield and Richie Walters; granddaughter, Shauni Hall; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday (June 4, 2018) at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Pastor James Ray Holcomb officiating.
Military graveside rites by the U. S. Air Force Honors Team (Shaw A.F.B.) and local V. F. W. and D. A. V. posts will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Pastor Bud Kilbourne will lead the committal service. Family and friends are asked to meet at Holding Funeral Home by 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
