Obituary for Joan M. Hindenlang Joan M. Hindenlang, 77, of Wapakoneta, died 4:05 a.m., Sun. June 24, 2018, at Wapakoneta Manor. She was born July 7, 1940, in Rhine, OH, the daughter of Edward & Rita (Soder) Wendel, who preceded her in death.
On Nov. 25, 1961, she married Jack L. Hindenlang, and he survives. Other survivors include, 3 children, Lori L. Hindenlang, Lexington, KY, Scott M. (Lori) Hindenlang, Miamisburg, OH, & Peggy S. (Dave) Tally, Edgewood, KY, 4 grandchildren, Abbey & Jack Tally, and Mikaela & Mikenzie Hindenlang, 4 siblings, Jean (Richard) Egbert, New Knoxville, William (Elaine) Wendel, Botkins, Janet Wendel, Mason, OH, & Jane (Keith) Bender, Wapakoneta.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta and a graduate & valedictorian of the Botkins Local High School Class of 1958. According to her family, Joan was the best stay-at-home Mom and Grandmother ever. Her hobbies included reading, spending time with her grandchildren and in her younger days baking and decorating cakes for her family’s special events.
Joan also will be remembered for her “Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats”. She had a passion for thrift shopping and was a collector of angels and butterflies. Joan spent the last six years as a resident of the Wapak Manor.
The family would like to thank the staff for their kind and compassionate care of our dear mother and wife. This past Sunday she earned her own set of wings and will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Fri.
June 29, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
A luncheon will be served in the Parish Life Center. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thurs. at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave.
