Obituary for Douglas William Crawford Douglas W. “Doug” Crawford, 74, of Wapakoneta, passed away Wed. morning, July 4, 2018, at his home. He was born July 6, 1943, in Lima, OH, the son of William H. & Dorothy M. (Goetz) Crawford who preceded him in death.

On Aug. 11, 1979, he married Patricia E. Puetz, and she survives. Other survivors include, 4 sons, John (Lori) Crawford, Wapakoneta, Shawn (Carla) Crawford, Shawnee Twp.

, OH, William Crawford, & Christopher Crawford, both of Wapakoneta, grandchildren, Johnny, Corey, Kayla, Stephanie, Drake, Emma, Shaunna & Marcus, great grandchildren, Evelyn & Lilly, a sister, Rebecca & Thomas Graves, Hicksville, OH, 2 nieces & 8 nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael S. Crawford on June 5, 2018, and brother, Stephen D. Crawford. Doug worked as a Tax Map Examiner with the Auglaize Co. Engineers Office, and as a licensed surveyor.

A 1961 graduate of Newark High School, Newark, OH, he was also a graduate of the Lima Technical College. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Newark, and attended First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. He was also a member the Wapakoneta Planning Commission, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie # 691, Wapakoneta.

Doug was happiest spending time with his family, caring for his dogs, and playing cards, especially sheep head at the Ohio Bar. In his youth, he attended the Boy Scout Jamboree in New Mexico. Private graveside services will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, with his brother-in-law, Pastor Thomas Graves officiating.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Tues. July 10, 2018, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (St. R.t 501) Wapakoneta.
