Obituary for Joann A. Lombardo Joann A. Lombardo, 82, of Naples, FL, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Formerly of New Castle, PA, she had been a Naples resident since 1973. She was born January 17, 1936 in New Castle, PA, the daughter of Nicholas and Mary (Giamarino) Barella.

Joann Lombardo (Josephine Angeline Barella) was the last surviving member of five siblings: (Rose Farbo, Mary Augustine, John Barella, Carl Barella, Patricia Wingfield Mancel). In her early years she worked at The New Castle Chamber of Commerce and shortly thereafter met and married Carmen V. Lombardo in 1957. Joann was a homemaker and assisted her husband with a restaurant business for 17 years until they fell in love with Naples, FL and decided to sell the business and move there in 1973.

She worked many years until retirement as a Kindergarden/ First Grade Teacher’s Assistant at Naples Park Elementary School and found the children to be as precious as gold! In her later years she enjoyed cooking, gardening in her yard and being a homemaker. God, home and family were MOST important in her life.

Mrs. Lombardo is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Carmen V. Lombardo; her beloved daughters, Kathryn (David) Turley and Laura (Scott) Woodward, both of Naples, FL; three cherished grandchildren, Kaitlin Turley of Naples, Jared (Jessica) Woodward of Charleston, SC and Matthew (Rose) Woodward of St. Louis, MO; one treasured great grandson, Andrew V. Turley and a soon to arrive great granddaughter, Evelyn A. Woodward in December 2018. She was a WONDERFUL mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many and her BEAUTIFUL soul and spirit will be GREATLY missed! Services and burial will take place Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in the Memorial Garden, 625 111th Ave.

N., Naples. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in her name be made to Laces of Love, www. lacesoflove.org.
