JoAnn graduated from Random Lake High School in 1971. After graduating from college, JoAnn worked part-time at Krier Preserving Co. Wally preceded her in death on November 9th of this year. JoAnn taught special education for over 30 years in the West-Allis West-Milwaukee School District. After retiring from teaching, JoAnn worked for her sister and brother-in-law at Armbruster Jewelers in Cedarburg.

JoAnn was an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Hubertus, volunteering for church functions and attending mass each weekend. She found joy in the simple things in life such as gardening and working outside; she was always looking for new, exotic flowers to plant. Spending time together as a family was very important to her whether it be staying at home or going on an adventure. She loved babysitting her granddaughters each week, spending time with them and spoiling them. Above all, she was an amazing wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

She is survived by her children Danielle (Chris) Kleist of Elkhorn, Nathan (Corey) Ney of Menomonee Falls and Kristen (significant other Trent Schoonover) of Sussex and grandchildren Eleanor and Emelia Kleist of Elkhorn. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters Mary (LeRoy) Momper of Fredonia, Raymond Theis Jr. of Random Lake, Betty Mayer of Random Lake, Patricia (John) Armbruster of Cedarburg, Robert (Sharon) Theis of Random Lake, Thomas (Rita) Theis of Random Lake, Ronald (Debi) Theis of Belgium, Richard Theis of West Bend and Howard (Linda) Theis of New Brighton, MN. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Ney, her parents Raymond and Jeanette Theis, her brother, James and niece Jamie. Mass of Christian Burial for both JoAnn and Wally will take place at 11AM on Wednesday, November 21st at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish. They will be laid to rest at St. Hubert Catholic Cemetery, with Military Honors rendered for Wally.

The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home (1167 Washington Ave. , Cedarburg) on Tuesday from 4:30-7PM (Rosary service at 4PM) and again on Wednesday at CHURCH (St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, 1200 St. Gabriel Way, Hubertus) from 10AM until services at 11AM.
