Joseph C. “Joe” Walter, 64, of Williamsport, passed away Wednesday April 18, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport. Born Feb. 3, 1954, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Brady D. Walter Sr. and Marion L. (Saeman) Walter.

Joe was a Williamsport High School graduate. He retired from Frito Lay after 39 proud years as a forklift driver. He loved spending time with his friends at the Young Men’s Republican Club, Keystone League and Harmonia Club.

When not watching the St. Louis Cardinal’s or Dallas Cowboys play, you could find him at a Williamsport Crosscutters game. He enjoyed playing basketball (although his friends say that he never passed the ball), and had fond memories of playing softball for a team named “The Rocks”. He never missed a Friday night football game with his buddies.

When Joe was not watching sports, he was listening to music, especially Alice Cooper, and loved going to concerts. He loved living in the “East-End” of Williamsport. Most of all, Joe loved and cherished his three daughters and grandchildren.

He was a devoted father, “poppy”, son, uncle and brother. Surviving are his three daughters, Sandra M. Dickinson (Brian), of Woolwich, N.J., Julie M. Weaver (Adam), of Williamsport and Ashley A. Walter, of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Bryandt, Abigail, Dominique, Carter, Breion, and Maeve; a brother, Barry W. Walter (Wendy); two sisters, Lois A. Walter, and Donna L. Shipton (Ken), both of Williamsport; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Brady D. Walter Jr. A funeral service to honor the life of Joe will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave.

, Williamsport. Burial will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s name to the Scholarship Fund at the Young Men’s Republican Club, 621 Washington Blvd. , Williamsport, PA 17701 or the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701, www. cancer.org.
