Gary L. Metzger, 66, of Montoursville, died peacefully Saturday, May 26, 2018, at his home. Born October 2, 1951 in Williamsport, he was the son of Freeman L. Metzger Jr. and Marvine L. (Taylor) Roupp. Gary was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and retired from Strick Company after over 25 years of employment.

He enjoyed boating, fishing, putting together puzzles, and taking cruises. Gary spent many hours watching wildlife in his backyard and spending time with his family especially creating lifelong memories camping at Worlds End State Park. Surviving are his wife, Darlene M. (Sones) Metzger; two children; Casy L. (Kimberly) Metzger of Williamsport and Becky L. Reynolds of Unityville; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two brothers Daniel Metzger and Larry Beaver both of Jersey Shore and a sister, Tammy Rafter of Muncy.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Koons. A funeral service to honor the life of Gary will be held 11 a.m. Friday June 1 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street. Burial will follow at Twin Hills Memorial Park following the service.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Sanders.
