John’s Obituary John Arlie Bennett (B-Bop) 71, of Harrisonburg died Friday May 17, 2019 at Sentara RMH surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Bennett was born on January 18, 1948 in Front Royal, Virginia and was the son of the late Arlie John and Alice Johnson Bennett. He was retired from Dunham- Bush and was a veteran of the United States Army.

He loved hunting, fishing and was well known for his ability to draw anything. He had a black belt in martial arts. He loved spending time with his two great-granddaughters who called him “John-John”.

He is survived by his wife, Olivia Gale Bennett; one daughter Tracey Patterson and her husband Brent of Dayton; two sisters Ruth Nauman and her husband Steve of Florida, Doris Harvey and her husband Gary of Madison County, VA; a granddaughter Emily Seekford and her fiancé Travis Shoemaker of Broadway; and his very special great granddaughters Hayley and Alexis Shoemaker who were the apples of his eye. We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. King who was his pulmonary doctor and also Josh his nurse who gave excellent care. Also to pastor Kevin Gerber for all the visits, prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time.

At his request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family for expenses.
