John Edgar Millhimes March 12, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card John Edgar Millhimes, 90, of Hershey, formerly of the Gettysburg area, passed away on March 12, 2019 in the Hershey Medical Center. He was born November 30, 1928 in New Oxford, son of the late John and Florence (Group) Millhimes. John retired as a shop supervisor for AMP Inc. and belonged to the AMP NIMRODS.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of First United Methodist Church in Hershey. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. John was very proud of his father John E. Millhimes, Sr. who was Adams County Sheriff during the 1940’s.

John is survived by; wife, Merle Adele (Coulson) Millhimes; son, Wayne (Deborah) Millhimes; daughter, Jennie M. (George) Smith; daughter, Adele Millhimes (Jeff Graboyes); grandchildren, Travis, Brian, George III, Ashley, & Will; great grandchildren, Trevor, Ty, Brandon, Blake, George IV, Bradleigh, Lauren, Brooke, Charlotte, Stephen; and a sister Pauline Spicer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Joseph Carl; a brother Glenn Millhimes; and sisters, Betty Rasmussen, Jeanette and Helen Millhimes,. A visitation will be held Friday, March 22, 2019, from 6 – 8PM, in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 88 Lucy Ave, Hershey.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10AM in the First United Methodist Church, 64 West Chocolate Ave. , Hershey. The family will begin receiving guests after 9AM.

Interment with military honors will be in the Hershey Cemetery following the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, 64 W. Chocolate Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033. (Memo check: “General Fund”.
