John’s Obituary John F. Stanton of Sharon passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in the ER of UPMC Horizon, Farrell, PA. He was 81. He was born May 16, 1937 in Lackawanna, NY.

He was adopted by Joseph F. and Matilda Stanton. On July 3, 1990 he married G. Jeanne Baker who survives at home. John worked at GATX Corp.

in Masury, Ohio for 18 years (where he met his wife) until the plant shut down in 1984. After leaving GATX, John worked at Greenville Steel Car and Trinity Industries in Greenville for 15 years until he retired in 1999. John loved reading, hunting, fishing and drives in the country.

He also loved NASCAR and stock car racing. John is survived by his wife, Jeanne, and a son, John II and his wife Tina of Alexandria Va. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, George and Beverly Nasser of Hermitage and his sister-in-law, Patty Baker of Kittanning.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews all of who he loved very much. John was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Toni Lee Stanton, and his brothers-in-law Bill and Ray Baker. Due to John’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no viewing or funeral services.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
