Obituary for John “Jack” “Jake” Keenan John D. Keenan “Jack” “Jake” Age 92, passed away at home on Thursday, July 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Joliet on August 27, 1925. He retired as a supervisor for Amoco Chemical after 30 years of service.

He was a proud veteran of the Navy during WW II and enjoyed attending his Navy reunions. Preceded in death by his wife, Edna (nee Butenas) in 1997; his parents, Daniel and Agnes (nee Webb) Keenan; 3 brothers, Raymond, Howie and Daniel; 1 sister, Agnes Zajac. Survived by his children, Sandy (Thomas) Maher, Thomas (Teresa) Keenan, Carol (Robert) Kaufman and Sharon Domanic; 7 grandchildren, Janice (Thomas) Russell, John Maher, Daniel (Jayne) Maher, Missy Maher, Sarah (Alex) Lopez, Beth Kaufman and Shawn (Alyse) Domanic; 9 great-grandchildren; his loyal companion and fur-baby, Daisy Mae; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A special thank-you to his loving and caring caregivers, Jeanette, Joy, Vera, Leo, Lory and Joliet Area Hospice. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 3 – 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment and Military Honors will follow at Woodlawn Memoria Park I. Memorials in John’s memory to St. John the Baptist Church, Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation, or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
