John L. Bertino Age 76, passed away Friday July 27, 2018 at the University of Chicago. Survived by his wife Joyce (Zamkovitz) Bertino; four daughters Jackie (Robert) Vargo, Jennifer (Greg Cockream) Bertino, Julie Bertino and Lisa (Patrick Phillips) Moore; grandchildren Jessica Bertino, Megan Vargo, Tala Moore, Jakob Leathers, Samantha Vargo, Emily Cockream and Lucas Leja; numerous family and friends also survive. Preceded in death by his parents John A. and Genevieve M. Bertino; one brother Robert F. Bertino.

Born in Joliet, living in Wilmington. U. S. Army Veteran. Retired from ComEd after 30 years.

John was a train enthusiast and member of the Illinois Live Steamers. He loved to cook, fish and spend time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 3-7 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.

Family and friends will meet Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 11:45 a.m. for Interment with military honors, at 12 noon at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
