OBITUARY John Patrick Baker November 25, 1928 – December 21, 2018 God called John P. Baker, who just turned 90, on December 21, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He went sooner than we would have liked but we know that he is now at peace forever with God. John is survived by his eight children, Susan Baker Teson, Laura Baker, Barbara Leclere (Randy), Mara Gierster, Patrick Baker (Kim), Julie Alyea (Bryan), Kerry Baker Newland and Joseph Baker (Tamalee); their mother, Frances Evans; 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and a niece, nephews and cousins.

John was born on November 25, 1928 in Caneadea, New York. He was a civil engineer and retired from HNTB after 40 years in 1995. He was an active and devoted community volunteer with St. Patrick Parish and the Northland Neighborhood Association.

He was always busy helping his family, neighbors and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, December 29th with a rosary at 9:00 AM with visitation following until the Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64116. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Patrick Parish. John’s family expresses their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Wexford Place and Ascend Hospice who assisted John during this last part of his life.
