John Ray Lowhorn, 69, of New Castle passed away March 10, 2019 at Henry Community Health. He was born December 17, 1949 in New Castle to the late John D. and Nawasa (Moore) Lowhorn. He is a graduate of New Castle High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1969 – 1970.

John retired from Chrysler in 1993 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 137. John enjoyed golf, fishing, playing pool, cards and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Randi Lowhorn; children, John (Ginger) Lowhorn, Jr. and Kimberly York; grandchildren, Jake Nicholas and Samantha Riley York; sisters, Linda Morgan and Anna Hartman; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Nawasa Lowhorn; son, Eric Wade Lowhorn; grandson, Conner Byrket. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev.

Rick Evans officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
