John David Vollbrecht was born September 11, 1959 in Faribault, Minnesota to Donald and Carole (Chinberg) Vollbrecht. He served in the United States Navy for four years and then returned to Fort Dodge. He and Karolyn Kinkner made their home in Fort Dodge where he worked for ADS for over twenty years.

He also worked for Keim Trucking and also for Ron Ely where he enjoyed scrapping. John enjoyed collecting trains and stamps but mostly enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. On July 3, 2018 John D. Vollbrecht died suddenly at his home in Fort Dodge.

He is survived by his significant other, Karolyn Kinkner, his daughter Jessica and son in law Travis, his grandchildren Larissa, Phoebe and Delilah. John is also survived by his mother Carole and step-father Brandy Brandenburg, and his brothers, Bill and Wayne. He was preceded in death by his father Donald, sister Cathy, step father Steve, mother-in-law Betty, fatherin-law Bill and grandma Anna.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
