John W. “Jack” Brush, 69 of Greensburg, peacefully passed away, Monday morning, November 5, 2018, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, while being comforted by his loving family. Jack was born in Mt. Pleasant, September 26, 1949, the son of the late Frank Clair and Florence J. Little Brush.

He was Pentecostal by faith and was a graduate of Hempfield High School Class of 1967. He also attended the Information Science Institute of Pittsburgh, studying computer programming. Jack was a Proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with HQ Co. 127th Signal GP USARV.

He served in Vietnam as a Clerk Typist for his Company and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He attained the Rank of Sp/4. Jack has been employed for over the past forty years as Purchasing Agent, for National Hydraulics, of Mt.

Pleasant. Jack was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother to his family and a friend to his many Co-Workers. He was also an avid fan of Nascar Racing.

Jack is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, His loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Rose M. Smartnick Brush, whom he married Dec. 30, 1969. Brush and his wife Kristie of Paducah, KY His Three adoring Grandchildren: Tayler Brush Jeremy and Adalyn Brush His Brother: Frank C. 1, 2000) Jack’s family and friends are cordially invited to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Thursday from 2 – 4PM & 6 – 8PM. and again Friday from 9:45 am to 10:45 AM, where his Funeral Service will begin at 11 AM with his Friend, Pastor Bob Green, Officiating, of Madison United Methodist Church. Committal Services and interment will follow in the Mt.

Pleasant Cemetery, with Full Military Honors accorded at the gravesite, by the Southmoreland Veterans Association, Honor Guard.
