John was born October 7, 1942 in Port Gibson, MS John was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and music director for many years. He graduated from Johnston Station High School and Draughon’s Business College.

He was such a loving and caring person who took care of everyone else before himself. He was an accountant and longtime employee of Magruder Oil Company and Seago Lumber Company, McComb, MS He is preceded in death by his foster parents, Lee and Winnie Johnson, mother Laura Boyd, brother Tommy Martin, sister Nancy Johnston, brother in law Clinton Johnston. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Lomax Martin, son Wayne Martin, son and daughter in law Chad and Stephanie Martin all of Summit, MS, three grandchildren, Helen Martin, Leia Martin, Joey Dunn, five nieces and three cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 24, from 5 till 8 PM at Hartman Jones Funeral Home. Services will be Friday at 11 AM from Hartman Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit.

Rev Glen Crane and Rev Tom Burris will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be A special thanks to Compassus Hospice of McComb for the loving care given to our husband and father. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 2147 Barnett Rd, Summit, MS 39666.
