Gaston Plantiff Loomis January 12, 1944 – December 26, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Gaston Plantiff Loomis, M.D., a psychiatrist and psychopharmacologist of over thirty years, died Wednesday, December 26, 2018, in Summit, MS. He was 74. After graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Loomis practiced in several states including California, New York, Minnesota and Georgia.

Upon retirement, he moved to St. Simmons Island, GA with his wife, Marjorie Loomis. They enjoyed walking on the beach with their dog, Neuman, travelling and spending time with friends and family. Gaston had a good sense of humor and loved a good story being a frequent listener of audio books long before they became popular.

He also liked tinkering with computers and all kinds of electronic gadgets. Finally, he enjoyed the occasional trip to the local casino. Gaston is survived by his wife, Marjorie Albritton Loomis, his two children, Gaston P. Loomis (Mary Kate) of West Chester, PA and Dabbs Loomis Curley (John) of Jackson, MS, and his four grandchildren: Mary Ellen and Katherine Curley and Emma and Ava Loomis.
