Zelma Pope Roberts August 28, 1918 – February 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Zelma Pope Roberts, 100, of Summit, MS. , passed away on February 17, 2019 at Aston Court. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM at Johnston Chapel UMC.

Rev. Greg Smith will officiate and burial will be in Johnston Chapel Cemetery. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Roberts was born on August 28, 1918 in Lexie, MS. She is the daughter of Laney Louis Pope and Lois Ellzey Pope. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

She was the most loving, kind and caring Christian woman anyone could ever have the pleasure of knowing. She treated everyone with respect and tender loving care. She always put everyone else’s needs above hers.

She enjoyed crocheting, making jelly, watching birds, growing flowers and fishing. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd T. Roberts; two sons, Tilford L. Roberts and Rev.

James A. Roberts; one daughter in law, Barbara Roberts; one granddaughter, Melissa Maxheimer; four brothers, Hansford Pope, Nelson Pope, Clayton Pope and Everette Pope; two sisters, Eleanor Bernard and Maxine Boyd. She is survived by one son, John H. Roberts, II (Eileen); one daughter in law, Jane Roberts; one sister, Wilda Rhodus; a special nephew, Mickey Boyd; her grandchildren, Ginger Ritter (Tony), Robin Roberts, John H. Roberts, III (Sandy), Lee Roberts (Linda), Tim Roberts (Mary), Cindy Kirkman (Jimmy) and Scott Roberts (Deva); 17 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
