Obituary of John Malik John F. Malik, 68, of New Derry, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born October 6, 1949 in Baggaley, a son of the late Carl and Catherine (Virone) Malik. John was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Marine Corp.

attaining the rank of Lance Corporal with the 3rd Marine Division. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Newcomer Products as a machinist and had also previously worked at the former Vulcan Mold & Iron Co He was a former member of St. Martins Roman Catholic Church in New Derry and was a member of the Derry Rod & Gun, Lloydsville Sportsmen, Kingston Veterans & Sportsmen, Hecla Sportsmen, and the American Legion Post 981.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Carl Malik. He is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Ellajane Thompson; a son, Ryan E. Malik; siblings, Caroline McAteer (Regis), Margaret Chendy, Joe Malik, Alphonse Malik (Joyce), and Lewis Malik; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog and hunting companion, Mollie. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 PM in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc. 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe.

A funeral liturgy will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Military honors accorded by the Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard will be held immediately following the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fairmont Cemetery, Cook Township.
