Jonathan Edward Sams, 52, of Woodburn, KY departed this world on July 7, 2018. Jonathan was born in Bowling Green, KY on November 21, 1965. He enjoyed spending time with his family, the house cat, Annabelle, and his horse, Sweet Pea; he was extremely proud of his daughters and his new granddaughter.

Throughout the years, Jonathan has been very involved in mentoring youth in our community through his involvement with the Warren County Rough Rider’s 4-H Horse Club where he served as the club leader for many years. In addition, he was a member of the South Warren FFA Alumni, where he most recently served as president. Jonathan enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife cross-country and participating in activities with the Cave Country Harley Owner’s Group.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a lover of all animals. Jonathan was the Senior Research and Development Engineer for Holley Performance Products where he has been employed since 1997. He was a jack of all trades–master of all.

It seemed that there was nothing that he could not fix or repair. He was a truly talented person. He is survived by his high-school sweetheart and loving wife of 33 years, Darla, two daughters Katelyn Mosley (Tyler) and Lauren Sams, a granddaughter, Charlotte Mosley, his father, Thomas Sams (Betty), his mother, Vivian Cartmill (Paul) and a brother, Jeffrey Sams (Shari).

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Woodburn Baptist Church, 600 Woodburn Allen Springs Road, Woodburn, KY 42170. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.

Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
