Jose’s Obituary Obituary Jose DeJesus Vera, 76 Jose DeJesus Vera, 76, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at The Willows. Jose was born September 21, 1942 in Tabasco, Mexico to Porfirio Vera Frias and Maria Guadalupe Lopez. He grew up in Tabasco, Zacatecas and attended schools there.

He was in the Mexico Army. Jose married Esperanza Vera on July 4, 1964. She preceded him in death.

He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church Jose was an electrician, plumber, mechanic, carpenter, and also worked at Valley Equipment and Irrigation in Blackfoot. He has also lived in California and Texas, then moved to Blackfoot in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, family barbecues and watching charriadas.

Jose is survived by his children, Jose (Norma) Vera Jr. of Mexico, Rick Vera of Mexico, Laura Vera of Mexico, Celina Vera of Utah, Alfredo Vera of Mexico, Maribel (Tim) Priest of Blackfoot, Asusena (Vena Jr.) Taula of Utah, Norma (Tom) Genera of Blackfoot, Margie (Jason) Carrillo of Blackfoot, Clay (Candy) Vera of Fort Hall, and Cynthia (Salvador) Rivas of Wyoming; 51 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and sisters, Juanita Avila and Maria Mares. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esperanza Vera. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Blackfoot.

A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 with a viewing to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.
