Joseph’s Obituary At 96 years of age, Joseph G. Salvato passed away on Friday February 8. For the last two years he was receiving supportive care at CareOne at Es Park in Beverly. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York he was a son of the late Giacomo and Gaetana Salvato.

Joseph received his early education attending schools in Brooklyn. He enlisted into the Army in 1941 and served honorably with the 101st Airborne during WW II. He was discharged in Nov.

of 1945. Upon his discharge he joined the ATF in New York. Joseph left the AFT in1950 and joined the NYPD and was stationed at the 82nd precinct of Brooklyn for the next 8 years.

He left the NYPD in 1958 and moved to Boston where he worked for many years in the administration office at the Jewish Memorial Hospital in Roxbury. There he met his future wife Norah Jean. They soon married and settled in Chelsea raising a son and daughter.

His life’s dedication was love of family and home. In addition to his parents Joseph was also predeceased by his siblings; Ann Meli, Sam, Jack, Pete, John and Vinny Salvato. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Norah Jean (Barr) Salvato of Chelsea.

He was the loving and devoted father of Lawrence Salvato and his wife Jennifer of Beverly and Linda Bussiere and her husband Mark of Rindge NH. Cherished grandfather of Tony and Angela Bussiere of NH and Corey Graham of Beverly. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be conducted in the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Thursday morning Feb. 14 at 10:00 AM. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to visit attend. Funeral home fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite funeral home.
