of Johnston, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara N. (Stafford) Battista. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Antonetta (Pandozzi) Battista.

Joseph was a cement mason in the construction industry; and a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran. He was the devoted father of Paul J. Battista and his wife Camille of Vero Beach, FL, Mark V. Battista and his wife Debra of Johnston and Tracy A. Folgo and her husband Robert of North Providence; cherished grandfather of Rachel & Jessica and her husband Brendan, Alexandra & Isabella and GP & Giuliana; and loving great-grandfather of Aidan, Camden and Ethan. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave.

, Cranston on Friday, November 23rd at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 179 Academy Ave. , Providence at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
