Joshua Kieth Nicholas Joshua Kieth Nicholas, 19, slipped quietly from this life on February 8th, 2019. We will miss our boy! Joshua was born on October 19, 1999, to Michael Andrew and Julie Ann Noorda Nicholas.
He lived in Plain City, Utah all of his life. He was the youngest of 7 children. Joshua was a boy who was quick with a smile, and was eager to love all those who crossed his path.
Blessed with the diagnosis of Autism, he had that extra special light that encompassed all who knew him. He had a contagious laugh, and had the ability of influencing others to laugh! He had a deep bass voice that rumbled when he talked!
He had strong arms that would encircle all who needed a tender hug. Many times, he had a hard time letting go. Joshua was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a part of the Riverside Ward, in the Plain City Utah Stake, and had recently, been ordained as an Elder.
He loved bearing his testimony, and would do so almost every fast Sunday. He was true to his Heavenly Father and to his Savior Jesus Christ. Josh was a big fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, hockey team, and of course, Fremont High School.
He loved watching hours upon hours of Blackhawk game highlights! He also loved going to all the home football and basketball games, and cheering on the Silverwolves, with all of his buddies! He had an endless supply of jersey’s and t-shirts from both teams!
Joshua graduated from Fremont High School in 2018, where he was a Vice President in the National Honor Society. He was currently attending Canyon View, and was participating in the Life Skills Program. Joshua was fearless!
He may not have liked swimming, or heights, but he was one who would take you out of your comfort zone. He loved his friends and always wanted to be with them, and to go places with them. Joshua was blessed with great buddies, who were as true to him, as he was to them.
They will always hold a special place in our hearts. Life was better with Joshua around, there is no doubt! But now, there is a new light in the heavens, and this earthly existence will continue to be better because that light now shines on.
Not only with those left behind, but also, with those in the next life; as he continues to fulfill his mission. The family would like to thank all of Joshua’s teachers, aides, bus drivers, church leaders, coaches and buddies from Weber State Special Olympics, extended family, and friends, who made such a difference in his life! Joshua is survived by his parents, his brothers, Tyson Andrew Nicholas, Derek Robert Nicholas, Garrett Austin Nicholas, all of Plain City, Utah, Christopher Joseph Nicholas, Riverdale, and sister, Zoey Ann (Preston) Parker, West Haven.
He is also survived by his Grandparents, James and Sue West, Plain City, Steve and Cora Noorda, Louisiana, Lynne Nicholas, Riverdale and great grandparents, Robert and Mary Jane Harbertson, Roy, and many aunts and uncles and cousins that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Adam Michael Nicholas, and his grandfather, Oleen Kieth Nicholas, both, whom we are sure, have welcomed him back with open arms. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16th, 2019 at 11 a.m., Plain City Utah Stake Center, 4630 W. 2150 N., in Plain City, Utah.
Friends are invited to greet his family, Friday, February 15th, 2019, at the Stake Center, from 6 – 8 p.m., and Saturday, from 9:40 – 10:40 a.m. Graveside services will be held at the Plain City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary.
