Ruth Barnett Wright February 13, 1926 – February 3, 2019 Ruth Barnett Wright, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living Center in South Ogden on Sunday morning, February 3, 2019. She was born February 13, 1926 to John William and Zilnorah Draper Barnett. She married her loving husband, Roland Chambers Wright on October 25, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Their children are Robert (Janice Alder) Wright, LaMar (MarJean Beus) Wright, Rosalyn (Clyve) Findlay, Rodney (Gaylene Phippen) Wright, Kenny (Debbie DeBoer) Wright, Deanna (Michael) Kelsch. She is the proud grandmother of 25 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was a dedicated secretary for J.W. Brewer Tire Company for 27 years, and was the Math Department Secretary at Weber State University for 16 years.

She enjoyed serving as president of the Heights Chapter, Credit Women International. She was actively involved with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for many years. Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings.

She especially enjoyed being Drama and Speech director in the MIA for 18 years. As Stake Speech Director she participated in the theme presentation at June Conference in the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City with youth from her stake and some of her children. She was an accomplished seamstress and especially enjoyed sewing for many brides-to-be including her own daughters.

She is survived by her children; her sister Mary Barnett Thorson and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Wright Myers. Her funeral will be held at the Old Post Ward Chapel, 5191 Old Post Road, Ogden Utah, on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. a viewing will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment in Ogden City Cemetery.
