Loren passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at his home in West Haven, Utah. He was 95. Loren was born to George and Ella Jensen.

Loren joined the Marines at the age of 19. He was wounded in WWII on the island of Guam where he lost his eyesight. During his recovery at the VA Medical Rehabilitation Hospital, Pennsylvania, he met the love of his life Vera Yacko when she assisted him in writing letters home to family.

Loren and Vera married on November 25, 1944 and went on to have 4 children: Judith Weyland, Gerald D. Jensen, Dwaine L. Jensen (deceased), and Michael G. Jensen. He is survived by his living children, 6 grandchildren, 8-1/2 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Loren was a very hard worker and never let his blindness hold him back in any way.

Loren was the recipient of the Purple Heart among multiple awards during his lifetime for his military service as well as career awards for precision workmanship and “Handicap Employee of the Year for the State of Utah”. The family is planning a celebration of Loren’s life at a later date.
