Mr. Josiah “Joe” Walter Bagwell, Jr., age 79, of Nebo, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Autumn Care of Marion following several years of declining health. Joe was born in Concord on May 9, 1939 to the late Walter Bagwell, Sr. and Margaret McIntosh Bagwell. A complete Obituary to come Monday.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Marion with Rev. Warren Owens officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Burial, with military honors provided by the U. S. Navy, will follow at McDowell Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 31 College Place, Asheville, NC 28801. Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
