Obituary for Joyce A. Francis Joyce A. (Cole) Francis, 73, of New Castle and formerly of Greenfield passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Glen Oaks Health Campus following a brief illness. She was born July 20, 1944 in Indianapolis to the late Thomas Warren and Francis (Rhybolt) Gray. Joyce attended Charlottesville High School.

In years past, she was member of the Raleigh Order of the Eastern Star and a Sunday school teacher at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed caring for her family and working on the family farm. She also loved to crochet, collect dolls and angels and sunflowers.

In 1992, Joyce married Arthur Francis. Together, they moved to Florida and resided there for 10 years before returning “home” in 2002. She is survived by her children, Jerri Walker of New Castle, Teresa Amyx of Williamsburg, Dean (Shawn) Cole of Greenfield; Arthur’s children, Jennifer Francis, Chip Francis; grandchildren, Veronica Walsh, Lawrence Walker III, Danielle White, Cierra Cole; six great grandchildren, sisters, Fran (Rod) Rodrigue, Dinah (Jim) Phillips, Billie Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Gerald Cole; 2nd husband, Arthur Francis and a brother in law, Ron Anderson. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with burial following at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
