Obituary for Joyce M. Gustafson Joyce M. Gustafson, 87, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at her home. She was born December 4, 1930 in Iron Mountain, MI, daughter of the late James and Philomene (Potier) McEwing. Joyce married Adolph Gustafson on July 30, 1949 in Kingsford.

He preceded her in death on July 21, 2010 after 60 years of marriage. Joyce was an excellent housekeeper and loved taking care of her husband and boys. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.

She enjoyed flower gardening, baking, cooking, and made some of the best pasties and potato salad around. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Joyce is survived by two sons, Randy (Cindy) Gustafson and Ted Gustafson, both of Iron Mountain; a brother, Harold “Buck” McEwing; a sister, Mary Hord; four grandchildren, T.J. (Leona) Gustafson, Lindsay (Jamie) Richer, Lori Gresnick, and Eric (Stacey) Gresnick; seven great-grandchildren, Mariah, Jason, Abby, Matthew, Finley, Felicity and Teddy, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Adolph, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Lester McEwing; four sisters, Eunice Hollingsworth, Clara Mattson, Genevieve Hord, and Phyllis Maher; and a daughter-in-law, Jan Gustafson. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Monday, December 3, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Memorial services will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

Rev. Mike March will officiate. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery in the spring.
